SPAIN APPOINT LOPETEGUI
Spain have named Julen Lopetegui as their new coach.
The 49-year-old former Porto boss takes over from Vicente del Bosque, who confirmed after Euro 2016 he would not be extending his eight-year stay in the Spain hotseat.
A statement from the Spanish football federation said: "The RFEF has appointed Julen Lopetegui as the new national team coach."
MAYORAL JOINING WOLFSBURG
Real Madrid forward Borja Mayoral has announced he will join Wolfsburg on loan, but hopes to return to the Bernabeu in the future.
The 19-year-old forward, who made six La Liga appearances for the Spanish giants last season, left Real's training camp in Montreal, Canada, on Wednesday to join Wolfsburg on a one-year loan deal.
"Wolfsburg are a big name in German football and in the Bundesliga," Mayoral said on Real's official website. "I'm very happy and excited about the new chapter which lies ahead.
"I've had nine unforgettable seasons at Real Madrid and right now I'm feeling a lot of emotions.
"I've played for the best club in the world, something that very few players get the chance to do.
"I'm eternally grateful to Real Madrid and to all of my teammates and coaches."

HANLEY JOINS NEWCASTLE
Newcastle United have completed the signing of defender Grant Hanley from Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old Scotland international has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at St James' Park.
Hanley, who came through the ranks at Blackburn, made over 200 appearances for Rovers, scoring nine goals.
"I'm over the moon and delighted to be here," Hanley told the club’s official website.
"It is a fantastic opportunity to come and play at such a big club and one that I couldn't turn down.
"It is an exciting step in my career but it doesn't stop there. This is just the start and I am looking forward to helping Newcastle get back into the Premier League."

‘I’VE SIGNED FOR WATFORD’
Marseille defender Brice Dja Djedje claims he has signed for Watford.
The Ivory Coast international told French newspaper L'Equipe he would be moving to the English Premier League in a reported £4million four-year deal, and is now set to join up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour of Austria.
"I had other proposals, yes, even a German club, but I preferred to sign for Watford because this is a good club,” he said.
"I will find some former players of Ligue 1 and because it allows me to set foot in the Premier League."
SISSOKO A WANTED MAN
Moussa Sissoko will return to Newcastle on August 1 but hopes to have secured a move away from the Sky Bet Championship club before then, reports the Newcastle Chronicle.
Everton and Juventus reportedly lead the race to sign the France international, who was his team’s best player in their 1-0 defeat to Portugal in the Euro 2016 final.
MK DONS’ TARGETS
Karl Robinson has brought in three new players this summer, but the MK Dons boss is targeting a few more before the window closes.
“Numbers aren’t what we want them to be at the moment so there’s an awful lot more work to be done," he told the club's website. "We need a striker and at least two wide players as we’re short in that area.
"We got praised for the early work at the start of last season and then criticised for that work during the season,” the 35-year-old added. “It’s important, for me, that we make sure we get the right players in this summer.”
GOTZE EXPLAINS RETURN
Mario Gotze is quickly looking to build bridges with the Borussia Dortmund fans as he rejoins the club he left for Bayern Munich in 2013.
Gotze says: “Three years later, at the age of 24, I look at it with different eyes. I can well understand that many fans could not understand my decision.”

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Mario Gotze on a four-year contract.
The 24-year-old Germany international left Dortmund for Bayern Munich in 2013 but now rejoins the club.
"I am personally very pleased that Mario has decided to return to Borussia Dortmund," said Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.
"I have since his departure in 2013, always hoped that he will one day return to us."
UNITED ENTER BONUCCI RACE?
Manchester United have expressed an interest in Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, according to ESPN.
The availability of the Italy international is believed to have been raised during United’s negotiations to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford.
While United are confident of re-signing Pogba, their pursuit of Bonucci appears to be more difficult, with Chelsea and Manchester City also interested in the €60m-rated (£50.1m) defender.
ESPN go on to claim Bonucci’s arrival at Old Trafford could spell the end for Phil Jones or Marcos Rojo at the club.

Stoke City have agreed a £13m fee for
Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen, Sky sources understand.
Allen has been at Liverpool since 2012 but was in and out of Jurgen Klopp's first team after the German took over from Brendan Rodgers.
Allen made the majority of his appearances off the bench and ended the season, which was partially affected by injury, with only eight Premier League starts.
The former Swansea midfielder is out of contract at the end of next season and Klopp said last week he was looking into Allen's position at the club, where there is plenty of competition for a midfield place.
