Barcelona executive Jordi Mestre is frustrated that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are not finalists for the 2015/16 UEFA Best Player in Europe award, the club said on Saturday.
Europe's governing body of football announced on Friday that the Real Madrid pair of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, alongisde Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann, are up for the trophy.
"I don't think it was a good decision, I don't know what criteria UEFA used," the 53-year-old told TV3. "That players like Suarez or Messi, for example, are not there is outrageous."
"With all due respect for the winners chosen, I disagree.
Suarez received the fourth-most votes, while Messi, who won the award last season, was fifth.
